G&C has always prided itself on having the latest technology, we were the first factory in the country to purchase a laser of it's kind 10 years ago, and have continued this policy through to present day by having the first Amada automated punching cell of it's kind in the country.
The operation of the punching cell begins with a pallet of raw materials loaded onto the shelf of the handling system. A material sensor detects and confirms the presence of material on the pallet. Next, the vacuum lifter device picks up one sheet of material. A multiple sheet thickness detector confirms material thickness is correct. After satisfying these requirements, the material is then loaded via a conveyor onto the table of the turret punch press. The vacuum part picker allows for individual parts to be removed during the punching process.
We now have two fully automatic punching cells, which combine the potential for long uninterrupted runs with the flexibility of small batch production this has dramatically increased the punching capacity of G&C. We were so pleased with the operation of these machines that we converted an existing machine to an auto loading machine, and bought in one more.
With two more smaller punch presses and a laser we can handle sheet sizes up to 5000 mm x 1500 mm and 4 mm thick, the advantage of a punch press is the use of universal tooling for small batch sizes, however for larger quantities Amada can easily supply us with specialised cluster punches to give complicated shapes with a single blow, and with our contacts within the industry if your requirements are out of our range we can arrange for your requirements to be met.
